Just Say "NO" to Word Verification!!

Please know that our Design Team appreciates and makes every effort to comment on each entry submitted to our challenges.   However, word verification on Blogger is making that very difficult and time consuming, because it requires us to enter letters and words that at times we can't understand.  So please, please if you have word verification on your blog comments consider taking it off! I understand you don't want spam  so please consider comment moderation instead of verification. Commenting should be easy, however the word verification makes it hard and time consuming, so effective TODAY, WE WILL NO LONGER LEAVE COMMENTS ON BLOGS USING WORD VERIFICATION.

Not sure how to turn it off?  Here’s how:

Go into your “design” tab

Click the “settings” tab

Then click the “posts and comments” tab

Scroll down to “show word verification for comments” and click NO

Then save settings.

Thank you for your understanding.

Housekeeping~~Weekly Spotlighted Layouts

Good morning LGS faithful followers, Brenshevia here with a little LGS news/update.  As you may have noticed we have implemented our weekly In The Spotlight featured layouts.  I wanted to take a moment to explain to you a bit more about this and how your layout can be featured.

Each week the featured layout banner at the top of the page will be updated.   It is ONLY updated with layouts from that week's challenge.  For example, this week we have our May 1st challenge going on, so on next month when week 2 challenge post we will select 5 entries from THAT week's challenge to be spotlighted.  We will NOT go back to previous entries to spotlight, only for that week's entries so make sure you get yours in on time if you can!

Our selection is based on your timely entry, how well you followed the sketch and the details and composition of  your layouts.

If your layout is featured above, you may indeed grab a blinkie from our blinkie "storage room" and place it with a link back to our site on your blogs.

Happy Birthday To Us!

It was one year ago today that Let’s Get Sketchy was “born”! We know that a lot of scrapbook challenge blogs go up and come down the same year so we are very happy that you have allowed us to be your go to blog for your sketchy needs! 

Let’s Get Sketchy was started a year ago by Brenshevia, she then enlisted the help of 20 talented young ladies to showcase these wonderful sketches.  During the last year we have had a lot of talented women to grace our Design Team, I am very happy to announce that out of the 20 team members we started with, 8 of them are still on the team today ( I can’t seem to get rid of them….lol) not that I would want to!  Carla, Stacia, Laurie, Lynn, Melinda, Jenessa, Marit and Beverley, thank you for being such dedicated and committed team members!

In addition to these lovely ladies we also have the very talented Lanette, Debbie, Tracy, Stephanie, Michelle, Sherri, Alison and Stacey.  These 8 women are starting their 2^nd 6 month term here at Let’s Get Sketchy and we love having them here!

We are thankful to all the Design Team members whose wonderful works have graced our page but we are mostly thankful for you, our loyal followers. We are truly grateful to each of you have supported us through this past year.  We do hope that you will continue to support us through the next.  Please grab our blinkie and place it on your blogs to help get the word out about us, we love our members, the more the merrier!

Updates!

Hello fellow scrappers.  I know many of you are probably wondering what happened to our weekend faves and top picks?  Well I decided to revamp this process.  Starting October 1st we will have one weekly fave and one pick of the week.  So please be on the lookout for your name!

Also remember:

Effective October 1, 2012 the links for our sketches will remain open until the 30^th of each month.  What that means for you is that you will have until the end of the month to complete EACH sketch.  Sketches will still be posted on Mondays of each week.  There will continue to be 4 sketches a month.  

Because of the changes you will now be required to complete 3 of the 4 sketches in order to be in the drawing for the sponsored prize each month.

You will always be able to find each month’s sketch challenges listed under that month’s banner.  For example, in October there will be a banner off to the side of the blog that says “October Challenges.  Each Monday, the previous sketch will move to the right of the blog and the current sketch will take its place, and so forth and so on.  By the end of each month, there should be 4 (or 5 depending on the month) links under the current month.  Once that month is over, those links will close and be removed.  You ONLY have until the end of the current month to complete the sketches for THAT month.  NO CARRY OVERS! ( you will have until Sunday to complete the last sketch.

Attention~~Changes at LGS

Hello everyone,

In order to give everyone a fair chance at completing our weekly sketches we have decided to move our deadline from Friday night to Sunday night 8:00 PM MST..  Because we know a lot of us scrap mostly on the weekends, we hope this will give all who want to participate a chance to get those layouts done.   This change will go into affect immediately.  Thank you for your continued support at LGS!

General Housekeeping Info

With our grand opening just right around the corner I thought I should provide you with a few "housekeeping" details for Let's get Sketchy:

1.  Our challenges are posted every Monday; they are due by 8 p.m. MST on the 30th of each month.  We will randomly select a grand prize winner each month.  You MUST participate in at least 3 of our 4 weekly challenges to be eligible for the prize drawing. 

2.  All of our monthly grand prize is donated by generous sponsors, If you live outside the US, you will be expected to pay any additional postage to over the full international postage rate ONLY IF THE SPONSOR DOES NOT AGREE TO SHIP INTERNATIONALLY. 

3.  The LGS design team will choose WEEKLY favs so please be on the lookout for your entry.

4.  All layouts submitted for LGS must be original layouts and not previously submitted for any other online challenges.

5.  Members of LGS Design Team are not eligible to win monthly prizes.

6.  You may only enter ONE layout per weekly challenge.

7.  Please remember to upload your entries using Mr. Linky located at the end of the challenge instructions.

Please know that our Design Team appreciates and makes every effort to comment on each entry submitted to our challenges. However, if you are posting to a member-only site or if we have to continuously enter the word verification  we may not be able to leave a comment, so we ask that you please turn that feature off.  Thank you for your understanding.
