About Jill:

My name is Jill Rugg and I am the mother of two wonderful kids and one fantastic grandchild. I live in Somerset, Pennsylvania where I am a high school teacher. I have been crafting since I was a child, but in 2003 I fell in love with scrapbooking, and it has become my favorite hobby. Of course, my family photos are always my inspiration for my layouts. I am excited to be guest designing for Let's Get Sketchy -it is truly an honor!

March Sketch Challenge

2022 Design Team Reveal

Hello everyone and welcome to our 2022 Design Team Reveal! I so appreciate each and every one of you who took the time to apply and please know that just because you were not selected this time is not a knock against your talent. There were just so many application to choose from and I could only select a few. I will have another call this Fall, so please do not hesitate to try again. In the meantime, please make sure you play along with us!

DT Call

Hello everyone!

Lets Get Sketchy is BACK and looking for a fabulous Design Team. The DT term will run from March 1 through September 1, 2022 and could very well be extended after that time. You will be responsible for 2 layouts a month as well as commenting on entries each week. I am only looking for dedicated members who do not mind commenting on entries and are able to upload their projects promptly.

Why apply for our team?

To be inspired and to inspire others
You will be a part of an amazing group of women and develop lifelong friendships with women from all over the world.
Your work will be featured on Facebook and Instagram.

What is expected of our Design Team?

You MUST be a follower of our blog
Complete 1-2 projects a month (you will be given challenges at least a month in advance).
Comment on participants entries (THIS IS A MUST!). Any team member not adhering to this rule will be promptly removed from the team so please make sure you can do this before applying.
Commit to a 6 month term (Beginning March 1, 2022)
Keep an active blog that is updated frequently
Post our challenge and your project on your blog on reveal day and link back to the LGS blog.

How to apply: PLEASE TAKE NOTE TO ALL OF THE CRITERIA LISTED BELOW!

Leave a comment below indicating you would like to apply;
Add our link and DT call to your blog and share;
Create a layout from the sketch below and email it to letsgetsketchy@gmail.com (include links to your blog and any online gallery)
You MUST have a Facebook account as we will have a private DT group on Facebook.

Design Team Call Sketch

Anyone interested in applying please send your application to letsgetsketchy@gmail.com. Make sure you put DT call in the subject line. Please add links to your blog and any online galleries.

We are accepting applications through February 26, 2022. New design team members will be notified by February 27th. If selected, your Design Team call entry will be your first reveal. This is an open call, what that means is, I have the right to close this call at any time if I feel all the positions have been filled. The first reveal will be March 1, 2022. No previous DT experience needed.

I can't wait to see what you come up with! International members ARE welcome to apply!

May Challenge

Hello and as always welcome to Let's Get Sketchy.
Well we are already in May and it's time for our new challenge. We have plenty to show you from the Design Team along with the January winner who is Guest Designing with us.
As always we have another great sketch from Brenshevia and we hope that you will join in.
*****We have a change for you from this month. If you click on the Facebook link on the right of the blog it will take you to the Let's Get Sketchy Challenge Page.
This is where you will now be able to place your entry. All you need to do is add it to the sketch photo for that month. We will still have the challenge here and the design team creations to inspire you along with them being on the Facebook too but only submitting on Facebook.
We hope this will make it easier for everyone and it will make our commenting easier too so you wont miss out on hearing from us.*****

Now for this months Guest Designer.

My name is Jamie Arthur and I'm so excited to be a guest designer at Let's Get Sketchy this month. I love scrapbooking and really love working with sketches. I have been scrapbooking for over 20 years at this point. I have two children, a Golden-doodle, and I'm married to the best man a girl could ask for. And when I say the best, I mean it! This man puts up with my scrapbooking obsession as well as my coffee addiction and my love of books (which are everywhere)! I enjoy spending time in my craft room creating layouts for our family scrapbook albums. It is so fun to be able to open our family albums and not just look at pictures but relive the memories through the layouts themselves. I put my albums in the order in which things happened and I go year by year. The only problem with this method is that I end up with a lot of albums! I tend to scrap everything; however, I find that it is so worth it when I look at my children enjoying them.

Most of my layouts can be found on my blog Scrap Queen. On my blog I try to share what materials I used to create my layouts. Usually, I am using my Cricut Explore and Design Space, although occasionally I like to challenge myself to not use it. I also love using lots of pattern papers and embellishments.

I'm sure there is some inspiration here from the team that will inspire you if you need. We would love to see you join in with us each month with our wonderful sketches.
